Below is the list of add-in modules on top of standard built-in modules. They are named as what it is, no jargon, no funny and special naming to remember and you can tell what it’s for straightaway. They are modular and optional, which makes Ecava IGX versatile & flexible. More importantly, the pricing will fit into any size of your project budget, because you just need to pay for what you need.
Cluster Module
Cluster module allows you to massively scale and distribute your SCADA installation over large network or geographical area. You may use cluster as I/O gateway, or isolate database related tasks like historian, alarm or report to another machine to break any bottleneck. You may also duplicate any module as many as you like to achieve partial or complete redundancy. Cluster module also facilitate project extension or delegation without interrupting existing configuration.
Benefits Summary
- You may configure IGX as distributed I/O Gateway for large geo locations and better efficiency.
- You may offload any heavy task in your project like DB logging dedicated to separate machines.
- Two machines can work as redundancy topology to ensure higher availability.
- You may split your large scale project into several sections for separate development and easier runtime management.
- You may extend your project by adding new cluster without affecting existing running servers.
- You may put any SCADA server into maintenance without affecting the entire system.
- You may use dynamic IP for all clusters to connect to the cloud, which is the only with fixed IP.
Datamap Module
Datamap is a small and easy module that can be used for any data viewing or recording purpose. It can be used for equipment/maintenance list, or simply as a data map to any database table for visual, record, reporting or any info management purpose.
Datamap can be functioned as Recipe whereby the recorded parameter can be mapped and downloaded into the I/O tag. Recipe is a common requirement in manufacturing industry, or any situation when you need to save and open many sets of parameters and then send into devices.
Sometimes you may just want to have a spreadsheet for operator to record down some notes for operation needs, or even upload some photos or document if you need more than words or numbers. Datamap can do just that!
Internet Gateway
Something would not be right when your web SCADA cannot be accessed over the Internet, simply because your Internet service doesn't include the costly static IP. This Internet Gateway module will turn your web SCADA into Internet SCADA, as it allows you to connect to your SCADA over the Internet without needing you to purchase static IP from your ISP at server or project site. It will continue to update its dynamic IP by utilizing IGX DNS service instead. As such this module functions in annual subscription based model. Unlike using other dynamic DNS provider, you no longer need to sign up and maintain another account. Internet Gateway will reduce your maintenance work and cost, because it will integrate with your router seamlessly without needing your network admin to crack into complex port-forwarding configuration, which introduces another failing point upon router upgrade or hardware changes.
Redundancy Module
Adding Redundancy Module into your configuration will double the reliability of your SCADA system by allowing them to run in pair for mission critical operations. Configuring redundancy is as simple as entering a list of peers and then cloning your existing project into another machine, both project configuration on two machines are identical so you only need to maintain one project instead of two.
Your operator don't have to worry about the status at the back end because IGX Redundancy supports Network Load Balancing so you may enter your cluster IP for your mimic client to automatically point to the active server engine at all time.
Ensure license for each of the server is identical with Redundancy Module added in each server to get the highest application availability for your SCADA system.
Report Module
IGX Report Module can help you to generate production report with ease with its innovative patented technology. All you need to focus is on the report layout then the report engine will automatically fetch the associated data from relevant source and store into database automatically. This mean you totally don't have to bother about creating SQL report database then worry about storing and fetching data.
Report module can supercharge the output of your production data with real HTML page. Any impressive web page can be achieved with HTML based report module. You may generate your report using snapshot mode based on live data or statement mode based on periodic data. The interesting part is you only need to create the report layout for display but not configuring how to generate the data into database.
Also, all of the operation and maintenance interface will be automatically generated for you, including saving, opening, export, printing and even deleting old report if desire. And no third party reporting software is needed when using Report Module.
Secure https
If you are putting your SCADA facing the Internet, you may further enhance your SCADA security by applying HTTPS secure connection. HTTPS is a more secure way for a browser and a web server to communicate. This is done by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser.
With this link, you can be sure that the data being sent between web browser and server stays private without the ability of interception by a third party. This is the similar high security approach like online banking or credit card transaction. An SSL certificate is needed by the server to identify itself and send a public key for the browser to use to establish the encrypted link.
Service Module
Advantages of Service Mode
- Auto start upon boot up, without signing in.
- System will continue to run even user sign out.
- Closing GUI will not disturb operation.
- No need admin privilege to start, so no UAC prompt.
- Service mode is more stable because it can auto recover.
Service module allows non-admin user to run IGX SCADA project in the background, without showing backend interface. This mean no more system prompt upon starting up the SCADA, and no problem when operator closing the GUI. It will auto run upon Operating System startup, without needing user to sign in, and will continue to run at the background even after user sign out from Operating System.
Thick Client Connection for Kioskit
Ecava Kiosk-it is a Kiosk software developed based on Chromium code base, the very same for Google Chrome. It is secure, compatible & reliable to be used with any HTML5 application. Kiosk-it has all-in-one easy deployment mechanism, you can focus at your application and don't have to worry about any cumbersome registry configuration. This mean you can convert your thin client app to thick client instantly! Kioskit has built-in command line for auto-startup URL.
IGX is deployed to display its mimic on web browser by default, you have many reasons to put your browser to run on kiosk mode, mainly to run on full screen and stop user from browsing away from your application. However, the standard browser kiosk mode has its limit to stop user to bypass the system keystrokes. Kioskit is designed with this in mind, it will protect beyond browser's extension or plugin could offer: completely protect your application from being access beyond what it should, including stopping user from quitting your application, launching another program or even shutting down the Windows. All these protections are achieved without needing you to purchase any special keyboard or disabling any system key. Kioskit is not just Chromium in kiosk mode, but protect your application down to system level.

Thin Client Connection for Browser
IGX is a pure web SCADA that built in with native web server that supports HTML5 and CSS3 standards. It's very lightweight and there's no additional IIS or cumbersome yet separated web server needed. The crisp and clear display of its surreal SVG web content is fast, secure and reliable with its lean and light architecture design.
Unlike traditional SCADA that converting raster image to stream through the heavy content over the web using old or proprietary technique like ActiveX or Java Applet plugin, some uses Silverlight that not compliant to W3C standard. All these workarounds have its constraints and limitations that not only slow but unable to work across the open platform. You don't have to worry about ever evolving web technology by using IGX Web SCADA.
By default, the local connection for local IP is already provided, this mean user only need to add connection for remote client access using browser.
In any case that you wish to use the server or remote workstation is always run in fullscreen, you can easily install Thick Client for Kioskit to ensure the system is dedicated for SCADA mimic only.
VoIP Output for Alarm/Report
IGX SCADA can be enhanced with powerful Voice Over IP (VoIP) output whereby you can integrate with Alarm Task or Report Task. When VoIP is configured, any text can be streamed through and read out through the VoIP phone. Operator who receive the call can choose to Repeat and Acknowledge the message using DTMF-key-signals like pressing “9” for acknowledgement.
The VoIP module uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to establish and maintain connection sessions. Any computer and mobile phone applications that support SIP can receive calls from the VoIP module. It's one of the safest mechanism to deliver alarm/event or report message instantly and reliably.
