5.7.5. Alarm Acknowledgement Privilege

Alarms are acknowledged on the alarm viewer page by operators or front end users. Operators or users must be logged in on the project page and have the necessary privilege in order to acknowledge alarms. The configuration of user's privilege is not on the alarm table. This section will provide instructions for configuring the user's privilege for alarm acknowledgement. It is assumed that users know how to configure the user and role settings. Please refer to Security Role and User Configuration for more information.

Configuring User's Action and Role

  1. Click on the "Action" item under the "Tag" item on the Task Pane to open the "Action" tab.

    Action Tab

  2. On the "Action" tab, select the "Role" entry corresponding to "act.alarm.ack". Tick or check the roles that you would like to assign the privilege. Save the new settings.

  3. Click on the "User" item under the "Security" item on the Task Pane to open the "User" tab.

    User Tab

  4. On the "User" upper tab, select a user name. The lower tab will show the security level and roles associated with the user. Please make sure that the security level is at least 100. Any level lower than 100 will not allow the user to acknowledge alarms even though he or she has the role.

  5. Save the new settings. If IntegraXor Server is already running the project, restart the Web Server task. All of the client browsers with the project page should be refreshed.

Configuring Only User's Role

This is the second method. It does not require user's role, but only the security level of each user.

  1. Click on the "Action" item under the "Tag" item on the Task Pane to open the "Action" tab. On the "Action" tab, leave all roles corresponding to "act.alarm.ack" unselected and save the settings. Please take note that when a project is first created, all the roles are not selected.

  2. Click on the "User" item under the "Security" item on the Task Pane to open the "User" tab. On the "User" upper tab, select a user name entry. The lower tab will show the security level and roles of the user.

  3. To allow a user to acknowledge alarms, set the security level to at least 100. The roles have no effect and will be ignored. Save the settings. If IntegraXor Server is already running, restart the Web Server task. All of the client browsers with the project page should be refreshed.
